Dear Friends,
Greetings! SFOSI, the apex body of all the Sindhi Associations of South India comprising of Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, & Telangana, is delighted to invite applications from eligible Sindhi Students domiciled in the above mentioned States, who have excelled in the fields of Academics, Sports, Games and Extra Curricular Activities for its iconic programme, “Shining Star of South Merit Awards 2024”.

The Awards

We offer a cheque of Rs. 5000/- as first prize along with a beautiful trophy and a designer certificate in each category commencing from STD X to PhD covering 26 categories across the spectrum of Education and Sports, Games Fine Arts and extracurricular activities. The Merit Awards committee may at its discretion, also present citation certificates to students who have narrowly missed the top position.

The winners will be recognized and felicitated along with parents at a grand Merit Awards function to be held at Hotel Citrine, Bangalore on Saturday 12th April 2025, to applaud and encourage the students.

We also recognize specially challenged students, by awarding them 15% extra marks, to even the playing field. The achievements of our winners brings pride to them, their families and indeed to our entire community. Applications are invited from eligible candidates with minimum qualifying marks as indicated below for the following categories for the academic year 2024

Sports, Games, Fine Arts and Extra Curricular Activities

The candidate should have won recognition at any State or National level competition in the field of Sports, Games, Dance, Drama, Music, Painting and Extra Curricular Activities etc.

Note:

• In case a candidate has excelled in any other category, not covered herein above, such application will be considered by the Committee at its discretion.
• For STD X, applicants are required to furnish STD IX marks as well.
• Total aggregate marks of all semesters shall be considered wherever applicable.
• CGPA score will be converted to actual percentages wherever applicable.
• Academics apart, supporting certificates for extracurricular activities, if any, may also be enclosed with the application form.
• The decision of the Merit Awards Sub- Committee shall be final.

Eligible students are required to furnish details along with certified photocopies of the relevant documents i.e. marks sheet, degree certificate and any other testimonials along with two recent passport size color photographs.

Applications with incomplete information or without proper enclosures or attestation shall not be entertained.

NOTE: The Sindhi Federation of South India Merit Awards are distinct from the Sindhi Youth Association Merit Awards. However, students who have applied for the SYA Merit Awards are also eligible to apply for the SFOSI Merit Awards.
